After popularizing the Flipper Zero, Flipper FZCO is committed to focusing on work with BUSY Bar: desktop hardware—or monitor/wall mountable—with a pixel screen, large physical buttons and companion software. In busy.app they define it as «a productivity multi-tool with an LED pixel screen for custom statuses», with integrated Pomodoro, blocking distractions, third-party apps and «open-source, and hacker-friendly» philosophy. The product is not yet on general sale: the website directs a waiting list.

What BUSY Bar does

The proposal combines three layers. Physics: an LED sign that warns roommates or officemates that you are in deep focus, with a visible timer ("14:58 LEFT" in the web demo). Software: BUSY app (free) syncs notification locks on iPhone, Android, PC and watch; It can block TikTok and Instagram in focus mode and even offer a "hardcore mode" that prevents apps from being opened until the session ends. Automation: activation by microphone (ON CALL), OBS/streaming, calendar or specific apps; Matter integration with Apple Home and Google Home; HTTP API with Python, JavaScript and Go libraries.

The manual controls are designed to be used without looking: Start/Pause button, five-position selector (BUSY, CUSTOM, APPS, SETTINGS...), scroll wheel with push and Back button. The monochrome OLED rear display replicates the front state for when the device faces the door. Four work modes, Kailh Choc V2 encoder and 3,250 mAh battery (up to 2 weeks on standby, 8 hours of active status, full charge in 1 hour at 15 W).

Spotify prototype in the LED matrix

On June 9, 2026, the account @BusyFocusApp published a working Spotify widget prototype: integration with the Spotify API to display the current playback and control it from the hardware. It fits in with the “Apps” section of the site, which mentions clock, weather, YouTube/Instagram/TikTok stats, and user app support.

Pomodoro and brain rot block

BUSY Bar features a redesigned Pomodoro: work and rest intervals combined with distraction blocker. The website explicitly talks about combating infinite scrolling and human interruptions—the LED sign as a complementary social signal to digital silence on the mobile. The timer can be set to single or interval mode (25/5 min in the official description).

For developers and home automation

Flipper emphasizes that BUSY Bar does not lock the user in: open HTTP API, open source SDK, MQTT, self-hosting cloud control, USB Virtual LAN (web interface and API without Wi-Fi) and native support in Home Assistant as a trigger or exit screen (for example, notifying when the washing machine is finished). The company declares membership in CSA-IoT and Matter certification in process.

Availability

The device is still in the pre-launch phase: the landing and the store refer to Join waitlist. Companion apps already have downloads listed on busy.app for macOS, iOS, and Android. If the physical "Do Not Disturb" sign and Flipper's open ecosystem suit you more than another productivity subscription, you should sign up soon and follow the demos at @BusyFocusApp —where each prototype (Spotify today, another integration tomorrow) confirms that BUSY Bar wants to be a platform, not just a pretty timer.
