Editorial transparency

How we work and what the labels mean

MARGENEZ is an independent outlet edited by one person with human review. Here we explain how we check information and how to read our editorial badges.

Who edits MARGENEZ

MARGENEZ is created and edited by José García (jegroman), with in-house design, development and editorial review. It is an independent editorial project with editorial operations based in the United States. We are not a large newsroom: we publish with judgment, visible sources and honest labels.

«Verified» label

Means key facts — dates, figures, announcements and quotes — were checked against official sources or primary statements before publication.

  • We consult documents, press releases and reference outlets listed at the end of the article.
  • It is not external certification: it reflects editorial work at the time of publication.
  • It may appear together with «AI assisted» when drafting used AI tools with human review.
  • If information changes, we update the piece and record the modification date.

«AI assisted» label

Means drafting used artificial intelligence to write or structure text, always with human review.

  • AI helps with drafts, summaries or structure; it does not replace fact-checking.
  • Dates, figures and quotes are checked against sources before publishing.
  • The article shows a notice with the sources consulted for that piece.

Sources and links

For news we prioritize primary sources: official statements, court documents, public data and reference outlets. Most articles end with a «Sources consulted» block with direct links.

Opinion pieces, guides or viral AI prompts may use a different format, but we always distinguish verified fact from rumor, leak or opinion.

Other labels

  • Prompt — includes a template ready to copy into ChatGPT, Gemini or other generators.
  • Poll — reader poll at the end; votes are stored in your browser.
  • Developing — breaking or evolving story that may be updated.
  • Editorial opinion — commentary, not neutral reporting.
