How they were announced

Last year's winners Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear) and Jeff Hiller (Somebody Somewhere) read the nominees alongside the president of the Television Academy, Cris Abrego (Television Academy). Two categories — Best Variety Show and Best Reality Competition Show — were previewed on NBC's Today Show.

Originally the Academy planned to announce the majority today and the rest on July 15, but it unified everything in a single day to facilitate the promotion campaigns of the candidates (THR).

Analysis: what these numbers mean

  • The hospital reigns again: The Pitt repeats the favoritism of 2025 and concentrates casting nominations such as ER or Grey's Anatomy in its best moment.
  • Hacks in Roman Numerals: 24 nominations surpass any previous comedy in one year — Jean Smart, Hannah Einbinder and Paul W. Downs lead an awards machine.
  • Apple TV+ vs HBO: Widow's Bay, Pluribus and Shrinking compensate for the absence of Severance in the top; Apple competes in drama and comedy.
  • Beef returns: the Netflix anthology with Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan adds 16 — second season as a cultural event.
  • DTF St. Louis: the series by Jason Bateman and David Harbor accumulates nominations in limited and cast (13 in total).
  • Mariska Hargitay: will present the gala and compete with her documentary My Mom Jayne (3 nominations).
