Withings BodyScan 2: the longevity scale with 60 biomarkers, 6-lead ECG and $599.95

Winner of the CES Innovation Awards 2026, BodyScan 2 turns daily weighing into a 90-second cardiometabolic station: segmental composition, heart age, SpO₂, blood pressure alerts and Longevity scanning. Now on sale in the US; FSA/HSA eligible.

After inventing the first connected scale in 2009, Withings is upping the ante again: BodyScan 2is not just sold as a scale, but as the “first science-backed longevity station” –the scale, reinvented for longevity. Presented at CES 2026 as a CES Innovation Award Honoree and now available in the United States from July 15, 2026 for $599.95, it promises to transform the morning weigh-in into a complete 90-second cardiometabolic assessment with more than 60 biomarkers.

From the scale to the longevity check

Withings' proposal is clear: measure whether your lifestyle adds or subtracts years of healthy life. BodyScan 2 integrates into a single bathing device technologies that previously lived in clinical laboratories: multiband bioimpedance spectroscopy (up to 800 kHz, 13 frequencies), 6-lead ECG, cardiac impedanciography (ICG) to estimate pump efficiency, impedance plethymography, conductance electrodermal and a multi-wavelength PPG sensor on the handlebar for SpO₂ (blood oxygen saturation).

The result is a segmented map of the body in 6 zones (arms, legs and torso) with internal correlation ≥99% versus DEXA in fat mass, according to Withings¹. It does not replace clinical densitometry, but brings home body composition closer to laboratory standards. The ITO tempered glass platform (12.8 × 14.1 inches) supports up to 200 kg; The retractable handlebar incorporates a 640×172 px color LCD screen (3.2″ readable) and 12 electrodes in total.

Daily Scan vs Longevity Scan

Withings divides the experience into two rhythms. The Daily Scan is the quick morning check-up: weight (accuracy 50 g), fat/muscle/water in kg and %, visceral fat index, resting heart rate and vascular age (pulse wave speed). The weekly Longevity Scan adds 6-lead ECG with detection of atrial fibrillation, Heart Age, Nerve Response Score, SpO₂ and the complete longevity report in the app. The feature will be rolled out gradually after launch, Withings notes.

What's new in BodyScan 2 compared to the original Body Scan

  • Blood Pressure Insights Notifications²: The app analyzes patterns in your data and notifies you if it detects blood pressure trends that deserve attention —it does not measure blood pressure or diagnose hypertension; Withings recommends confirmation with a clinically validated cuff.
  • SpO₂: thumb pulse oximetry via PPG on the handlebars.
  • Heart Age*: indicator of cardiac mechanical efficiency (response and pumping efficiency via ICG), expressed as "X years younger or older" than your chronological age.
  • Glucose Resilience* (coming soon): Estimate how your metabolism responds to diet before it shows up in routine tests — Withings cites that the CDC estimates that up to 20–36% of diabetes cases are missed in spot blood tests.
  • Design for GLP-1 users: monitor lean mass while drugs reduce weight — GLP-1 can lose muscle, not just fat (Neeland et al., Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, 2024).

*Heart Age and Glucose Resilience require Withings+ subscription (1 month free included; then $9.95/month or $99.50/year). The subscription also unlocks unlimited Health Assistant, BodyPath, Body Profile, nutritionist consultation, and up to four ECG reviews per associate cardiologist (average value ~$300 each, according to Withings).

CES 2026 and press coverage

Withings announced BodyScan 2 on January 4, 2026 in Las Vegas, at the Venetian Expo booth (CES release). Media such as Android Headlines and Ubergizmo highlighted the early detection of the risk of hypertension and dysglycemia without cuff as a leap over conventional scales — always as a wellness tool, not a diagnostic one.

The US launch statement (July 15, 2026) includes the quote from Eric Carreel, co-founder of Withings: “BodyScan 2 provides a comprehensive assessment of cardiovascular and metabolic health” to move from reactive to preventive health. The rechargeable lithium battery promises up to 15 months per charge in that document (the website indicates up to a year); reinforced aluminum chassis and lifetime warranty with Withings+ complete the premium package.

Specifications and compatibility

For whom does it make sense — and what does it not promise?

BodyScan 2 is suitable if you have been using a Withings scale for years and want the maximum number of biomarkers without going to the hospital every week: athletes who monitor muscle mass, people with a history of cardiovascular disease in the family, GLP-1 users or those who simply want a "dashboard" of longevity in the bathroom. At $599.95 it competes with the Apple Health + wearables ecosystem, but brings body segmentation and 6-lead ECG that no watch offers from the bathroom floor.

Boundaries are just as important. Withings insists: it is not a diagnostic medical device; Heart Age, Blood Pressure Insights and Glucose Resilience are indicators of well-being. Several metrics await regulatory clearance (FDA in the US). If you have a pacemaker or other electronic implant, are pregnant or are under 22 years of age, some functions are not recommended. If you have chest pain or an emergency, call emergency services — not the scale.
