The Gaming Community Expo (GCX) returns to Florida with a proposal different from that of a classic convention: combines panels, tournaments and community areas with the infrastructure of Universal Orlando Resort, so attending the event fits into a vacation trip. The 2026 edition is confirmed for on Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25, according to the organizer's official website.
Schedules and afterparty at Universal Studios
The expo site is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ETon Friday and Saturday. The grand closing of the weekend is the exclusive afterparty on Saturday the 25th: attendees with a dedicated pass can enter Universal Studios Florida when the park closes to the general public, with access to attractions, food and nightlife until midnight. The package includes, according to GCX, entrance to the park, access to the party and a $25 gift card for food and drinks at Universal Orlando. The organization warns of limited availability.
Fandom experiences in 2026
The site's editorial programming highlights three important community blocks:
- Destiny: Destiny: A Celebration of Life — tribute to 12 years of the saga, with voice actors, developers and content creators.
- Fallout: The Fallout community area returns, with more exhibitors and the immersion of The Fallout Xperience and Fallout For Hope.
- The Elder Scrolls Online: ZeniMax Online Studios and The Adventurers Guild of Giving put on The Night Market and a presentation on the main stage.
Tournaments and competitions
GCX schedules online pre- and final competitions in Orlando. Among those cited on the official website are:
- GCX: Marvel Rivals Open — online prequalifier on June 27, 2026 and on-site tournament.
- GCX: Halo Slaycation — online prequalification on June 28, 2026 and in-person final.
- Online Super Smash Bros. and Rocket League tournaments before the event.
- D&D one-shots round table, free board game area and competitive card workshops (several with “coming soon” inscription).

How to attend and plan the trip
General admission tickets and afterparty passes are sold at gcxevent.com. The site also offers room reservations in partner hotels, requests for industry, volunteering and sponsorship, as well as a Discord to coordinate trips and meetups. The event's mobile app appears as "coming soon."
For MARGENEZ, GCX 2026 is a key date in the US video game publishing calendar: It concentrates community announcements, live title tournaments and a tourist experience that few events in the sector replicate.
